the oval plate within a molded C-scroll frame with a ruffled edge, the pierced outer border with foliate ornamented conjoined C-scrolls and swags of husks, the crest similarly formed with C-scrolls supporting a basket of flowers and leaves, the apron with open C-scrolls and a foliate cabochon clasp.  Re-gilt.

Condition

Re-gilt, but now requiring restoration – Small losses and abrasions overall to the gilt gesso moldings and foliate scroll carving. Element of foliate scroll carving lacking to outer frame at top left corner, the inner oval molded frame cracked and with element lacking at 4 o'clock and also at 7 o'clock – the lower C scroll open cartouche on the apron cracked at each side – most of these losses are visible on the illustration. Mirror plate appears to be old, but the silvering is very cloudy and there are overall losses.
