Description

  • 18cm. high, 36cm. wide, 29cm. deep; 7in., 1ft. 2in., 11½in.
geometrically inset with panels of lapis lazuli and other precious stones, the cavetto moulded hinged lid opens to reveal a mirror and a compartmentalised interior, the front centred by a carved ivory portrait relief, the English lock stamped W. MUCKLESTON PATENT

Condition

Very good overall condition. Some wear and surface dirt to the gilt-bronze mounts. A few minor veneer cracks throughout. The mirror has some stains and corrosion to the silvering and the felt lining is worn. A handsome and well constructed casket.
