Wearing a short ruff, black coat with purple lining, housed in a later turned wood box. Oil on copper.

Condition

The medium has remained stable in this work. Under a UV light there is evidence of some minor retouching around the extreme edges of the work. UV light has also revealed that there may have been a small amount of retouching below the sitter's right eye. The turned wood box frame is of a later date than the painted miniature.
