Catalogue Note
For another albarello from this well known series, see R.E.A. Drey, Apothecary Jars, p. 56/57, pl. 22A; and two examples from the P. Gillet/C. Damiron collection with the same label, decoration and R B monogram in C. Fiocco, G. Gherardi, L. Sfeir-Fakhri, Majoliques italiennes du Musée des arts décoratifs de Lyon, cat. nr. 134 and 135, p. 199/200.
In the past attributed to Faenza/ Castel Durante, this series of R.B monogrammed albarelli, probably standing for the pharmacy, has recently been re-assigned to Pesaro.
