  • A 'BLANC-DE-CHINE' FIGURE OF BUDDHA, 19TH / 20TH CENTURY
  • 35.5cm high
wearing voluminous robes draped over both shoulders and falling in layered folds over a skirt tied at the waist with a long trailing sash, his chest bare revealing a beaded wan pendant, his right hand lowered at his side with the thumb touching the middle finger and the left held in front clasping a small ball, the head facing forward with softly rounded features and heavily lidded eyes in a benign expression, and covered with tightly curled hair surrounding the usnisa, supported on a stand of pendent lotus petals, the back impressed with the mark Dehua within a double gourd and the seal mark reading Puji Yuren
