Description

  • heights 4 3/8 and 4 3/4 in.; widths 6 5/8 and 6 3/4 in.
  • 11.2 and 12 cm; 16.9 and 17.1 cm
en suite with the preceding wine cooler, and the front of each jar similarly decorated with the Royal Arms of France, the reverse and sides below the underglaze-blue shell-form handles with a Buddha's hand citron or a gourd in a dish on a lotus blossom and pads or branches, and the rim with a floral-scroll border repeated around the chrysanthemum-decorated knop above three gilt fleurs-de-lis alternating with floral roundels.  The smaller cover with restoration.

Condition

Each pot with a 1/8-inch chip under the handle, and one handle with extra tiny chip, one cover in half and restored, knop with 1/4-inch frit and gilding touched up.
