Painted on one side with the arms of Duncombe quartering Cornwallis and impaling Verney, Lord Willoughby de Broke, on the other with the crest, and beneath the spout, behind the handle and on the interior with precious objects amidst famille-verte flowering branches, the rims, lower body and foot with various iron-red and gilt diaper, floral, stylized ruyi and spearhead borders.

A candlestick and spoon tray from this service are illustrated by Howard 1974, p. 201, no. D2; and that spoon tray was one of a pair in the collection of Cecil H. Bullivant, sold at Phillips in London on March 22, 1988, lot 73.
