  • diameters 2 11/16 and 4 3/16 in.
  • 6.7 and 10.7 cm
each painted in the center with a pair of wading fishermen tugging or holding a net, the exterior of the teabowl and the rim of the saucer with a ground of variously colored and patterned panels. The teabowl with a small chip.

Condition

Teabowl with one 1/16 inch chip at 5 o'clock and a 3/16 inch chip on the upper tip of barb at 11 o'clock, the saucer in good condition.

An identical teabowl and saucer are illustrated by Howard 1994, p. 175, no. 198; and by Howard and Ayers, Vol. I, p. 156, no. 139, and were in the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Rafi Y. Mottahedeh, sold in these rooms on January 30, 1985, lot 85; and subsequently in the Leo and Doris Hodroff Collection, sold at Christie's in New York on January 24, 2007, lot 192.
