Description

'umeke palewa, of kou wood with light and dark grain, the rounded sides and flattened base with intermittent indigenous dove-tail, pegged and resin-filled repairs; handwritten label '276' in black ink on inside; exceptionally fine glossy reddish brown patina.

Condition

Very good condition overall for an object of this type and age. Age crack through center with traditional repair. Tiny bit of silver paint on inside rim. Very minor surface abrasions from traditional use.
