Description

  • A rare fire grate
  • 62cm. high by 45cm. deep;
  • 2ft ¼in., 1ft 5¾in.
cast iron and brass, the arched back plate with foliage and cross-hatch motif, the andirons with stylised foliate mountings

Condition

A stylish piece of good overall appearance with typical minor pitting and blemishing consistent with material. Piece is much blacker than catalogue illustration suggests. Minor traces of oxidisation in places. A practical piece ready for use.
