brass, the stem with lozenge pattern, intersected by a roundel pierced by a fleur-de-lis, the circular base on three paw feet

Condition
Scratches and old marks consistent with age and material. Some signs of tarnish and oxidisation. A decorative candlestick ready for display.

Chirk Castle is a mediaeval fortress on the Welsh border. From 1845 the interior was almost completely re-worked by Pugin for the owners, the Myddleton family.
