  • A large jardinière
  • black printed marks, impressed date cypher and painted mark `JB No 56. 1620
  • 47.5cm.;
  • 1ft 6¾in.
terracotta, the body decorated in white enamel and gilding between a pair of elephant head handles

Condition

A large and impressive piece which could be used for its original purpose. The colour in the catalogue is too red and the piece is of a rich terracotta tone. However, it has been restored and extensive use of spray means that the extent of the original damage is not obvious. Despite the restoration a striking jardinière.
