Catalogue Note

A line drawing of a similar table is shown in William Watt, Art Furniture from Designs by E.W. Godwin, F.S.A., London, 1877, pl. 15 (as seen on the right), and Collinson and Lock are known to have executed special versions of Godwin's design to their clients' requirements. For another example with the continuous stretcher beneath the top, see Susan Soros, The Secular Furniture of E.W. Godwin, New Haven, 1999, no. 212. (see right)
