Description

  • A cabinet
  • 156.5cm. high by 130cm. wide by 36cm. deep;
  • 5ft 1½in., 4ft 3in., 1ft 2¼in.
ebonised wood with gilt decoration, the mirrored rear cornice above an arrangement of three open shelves with spindle supports, flanked by panelled ebony cupboard doors inset with painted and gilded wooden panels, enclosing a shelved interior, on turned cup-and-cover legs joined by an undertier

Condition

A decorative piece of good overall appearance. There is some wear and retouching to ebonised surface in places. There are old marks and scratches consistent with age and use, in particular to the undertier. There is some wear to the wooden panels, which have some scratching and possible hairline cracking. Turned spindles of the central section all slightly loose. Mirror glasses with some minor foxing. Overall, a striking piece ready for use.
