Charles Robert Ashbee (1863 - 1942) for The Guild of Handicraft

Estimate
8,000 - 10,000 GBP
bidding is closed

Description

  • A vase
  • 35cm. high;
  • 1ft 1 3/4 in.
silver-plated metal, trumpet form, decorated with a stylised repoussé-work flower, centred by an enamelled cabochon, on a spreading circular foot

Condition

A large and striking example. The condition overall is good, although there is some wear to the silver plating, as can be seen in the catalogue illustration. The enamel insert is rather more striking in colour and texture than it appears in the photograph. There is some wear and tarnish to the interior consistent with it having been used for flowers. A good example, ready for use.
