Condition

A striking and decorative piece in overall good appearance. The colour of the illustration in the catalogue is fair. The floral painted decoration to the interior is on a front of canvas. There are some old marks and scratches consistent with age and some dirt to the surface. Some minor loss to the paint of the two panels. The left hand painted panel has a vertical scratch, approximately 3¼in. (8.2cm.). One mirror may be a replacement. An unusual piece ready for display or use. This lot appears in Sam Taylor-Wood's photograph 'Five Revolutionary Secons XII' 1998, which was nominated for the Turner prize.
