Catalogue Note
The table is very similar to a 1959 writing table ordered by Commander Alan Preston for the Master's Parlour of Carpenters' Hall, together with three armchairs and a bow-fronted side table (Fine Art Society, Edward Barnsley, Sixty Years of Furniture Design and Cabinet Making, exhibition catalogue, London, 1982, no. 57).
