  • 2ft 6¼in., 3ft 5¼in., 1ft 5¾in.
walnut and inlaid sycamore, the rectangular top above three frieze drawers, the incised square legs joined by a stretcher

Condition

A useful piece in good overall condition. Minor old marks and scratches generally. Polish to top uneven in places. A few small flecks of paint. Elegant and ready for use and display.

Catalogue Note

The table is very similar to a 1959 writing table ordered by Commander Alan Preston for the Master's Parlour of Carpenters' Hall, together with three armchairs and a bow-fronted side table (Fine Art Society, Edward Barnsley, Sixty Years of Furniture Design and Cabinet Making, exhibition catalogue, London, 1982, no. 57).
