Landscape with Perth Bridge in the Distance: The canvas has been lined. There is some very minor frame abrasion to the extreme edges. There is light craquelure, including stretcher marks, to the paint surface and on close inspection some suggestion of old paint separation in places. There is some very light surface dirt. Otherwise in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some minor retouching to the cloud in the upper right section and some further infilling to other areas including the stretcher marks. Held in a decorative gold painted composite frame with some damage to the extremeties. Perthshire Landscape: The board is sound. There is some very minor frame abrasion to the extreme edges including a tiny fleck of paint loss to the centre of the right hand edge. There is light craquelure to the paint surface and on close inspection some suggestion of old paint separation in places. There is some very light surface dirt. Otherwise in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some minor retouching to various areas of the sky, middle distance, an area just right of centre and minor spots elsewhere. Held in a lightly decorated gold painted frame in fair condition.
