STRUCTURE
Original canvas
PAINT SURFACE
There is a stretcher mark running around the periphery of the painting and a couple of spots of associated paint loss on the lower right. There is a small punture to the canvas in the lower left corner and scattered bitumen separation to the darker pigment, mainly in the lower left quadrant. Scattered craquelure and a discoloured varnish.
ULTRAVIOLET
UV light reveals the suggestion of a spot of retouching to the lower right corner and along the left hand norder, although an opaque varnish prevents a conclusive examination.
FRAME
Held in a decorative gold composite frame.
