- 26.5 by 22cm., 10 1/2 by 8 3/4 in.
the face of Christ sensitively rendered, his trompe l'oeil robes finely chased and picked out with flowers, the halo decorated with twisted gilt edging simulating rope and pierced floral borders, the engine-turned ground representing the light radiating from the halo, the border chased with heart shaped, scrolling foliage, held in a wooden, carved frame and kyot, mounted with a scrolling, wooden pediment, 84 standard
Condition
There are surface scratches to the paint of Christ's face. The enamel to the bottom right of the halo has chipped away. The gilding is rubbed consistent with age.
UV light reveals no further damage.
