Description

  • 31.5 by 27.5cm., 12 1/2 by 10 3/4 in.
the Virgin's maphorion and the Christ Child's robes picked out in seed pearls, the halos and corner pieces similarly decorated in polychrome enamels, the borders with raised foliate frieze and enamel plaque: Kazanskaya Pr. Bog, 84 standard

Condition

The painting that is visible is in excellent condition. Possibly a stone is missing from the Virgin's maphorion. The seed pearls are slightly discoloured and the icon would benefit from a professional clean. The enamel appears to be in good condition. Unexamined out of oklad. UV light does not reveal any damage to the enamel. We would advise prospective buyers to view.
