Condition
The canvas has been laid on board. The paint surface is dirty and there is a layer of discoloured varnish. There is some light abroasion along the lower inner frame edge. UV light reveals some spots of retouching to a line in the upper middle of the centre of the work and a few other minor spots of retouching in places elsewhere. The work would benefit from cleaning by a professional restorer. Held in a bronzed moulded plaster frame. Unexamined out of frame.
