Catalogue Note
Yefim Ladyzhensky's expressive compositions mostly reference the sights, sounds and bustle of life in his native city Odessa. His narrative pictures, painted in a deliberately primitive style, demonstrate both charm and an authentically independent vision. Many of his works are inspired by the stories of Isaak Babel.
