Description

  • width of box, 7.6cm.
of cartouche shape, the exterior engraved with hunting subjects within diapered panels, the base inscribed: G. 1499 G. and the rim stamped GL 13 ,  the secondary lid opening to reveal a later-fitted associated gilt verge watch movement, signed: Girod, London, circa 1710, plain three arm balance, pierced and engraved silvered balance clock, enamel dial, winding through front, Roman numerals, arabic outer ring, later hands, with key

Condition

Scratches and dents consistent with normal use, hinge stable. Dial with small chip at the winding hole and at 45, movement complete but needs to be checked and cleaned. The silver alloy is 800/1000.
