- A hunting still life of a hare, partridges, a snipe and other songbirds and a hunting bag; A kitchen still life of two white cockerels and three pigeons, a pig's leg, a knife, onions and lemons together with an earthenware jug, a wicker bottle and basket, all on a table top

Condition
Both paintings are a bit less bright than the catalogue illustration suggests.
Both paintings have a relining. The paint surface is very dry in both paintings and at some places the paint layer has a tendency towards flaking. Pinpoint spots of paint losses are visible but more so in the second painting. There is a dense and coarse craquelure pattern. Spots of retouching are visible in both paintings, but more so in the second painting such as along the upper side and in the wicker bottle. Both paintings have an old and dirty varnish layer. The paintings need to be cleaned.
Inspection under UV-light confirms the abovementioned retouchings and reveals additional large spots throughout both paintings, for example a repaired and retouched tear in the centre cockerel and small scattered spots in the hare and birds of the first painting. The varnish appears to have been unevenly cleaned.
