Condition

some retouches, yellowed varnish, small cut on the lower part of the ladies' skirt, need expert packing to preserve the substantial frames each in substantial frames of the period of plaster and gilt wood, one retaining trade label of frame maker Wed. J. de Bruijn & Zoon, Arnhem

Catalogue Note

After serving in the army, Louis Gaspard Adrien Count van Limburg Stirum (1802-1884) became the president of the First Chamber from 1849 to 1850, then Commissioner on behalf of King William II to Groningen (1850-1854) and Royal Commissioner to Gelderland (1853-1880).

Barend Leonardus Hendriks (1830-1899) worked in Arnhem as portraitist and painter of landscapes, having visited the academies in Brussels and the Hague.
