Description
- crossed swords in underglaze-blue, impressed numerals
- coffee pot: 23cm. high.
each piece finely painted with landscape vignettes of figures and buildings in river settings, enclosed by cartouches of rocaille and trellis festooned with fruit and flowers, the covers with flower knobs, under gilt-edged rims; comprising: a coffee pot and cover, a teapot and cover, a milk jug and cover, a tea caddy and cover, a sugar bowl and cover, a slop bowl, and twelve cups and saucers, one teacup restored
Condition
In overall good condition with some minor wear to the gilt rims and handles, minor wear to the enamels and minor glaze wear, especially to saucers. Some minor rim chips to the saucers and cups (especially to the footrims). One cup with hairline crack to lower connection of the handle. One cup restored. Two cups associated and of later date. The period teapot and sugar bowl associated. Cover of teacaddy broken (most pieces available).
Minor chips to the flower finials. The coffee pot with small shallow rim chip to the opening. The teapot with restoration to the lower section of the handle. The hotwater jug with small shallow rim chip to underside rim of cover. A rare and attractive service.
