Description
- Zaanse clock 75cm. high, stoelklok 71cm. high.
14-cm velvet covered dial cherub spandrels and engraved chapter ring signed Jan Koogies Wormerveer, brass hands and alarm disc, brass posted verge movement with mermaid pendulum, countwheel Dutch quarter striking on two bells, alarm removed, rosewood case with traditional frets and atlas, twisted pillars and shaped back board, together with a distressed Frisian stoelklok with date and moonphase, imperfections, weights lacking; together with two wall brackets, 19th century, one of ebonised wood, inserted with the head of a lion cast in bronze, the other carved in the form of an angel
Condition
Zaanse clock; dial tarnished but in original condition, hands dirty, one hour hand added (?), movement able to function but very dirty and in need of a clean, alarm removed, pendulum convertd to steel spring suspension, case distressed, globe of atlas lacking, right door broken but parts with the clock, some losses to the veneer, left fret loose, weights lacking.
Stoelklok; dial with unusual applied season spandrels, nice date and moonphase, dial tarnished and in need of a clean, side ornaments damaged, early robust movement in dirty condition and in need of a thorough overhaul, doors and back lacking, top ornament and one side ornament lacking, other side ornament loose but with the clock, weights and pendulum lacking
Brackets: small sections of carving missing from the bottom of ebonised bracket, the second lacking left arm and right wing of the angel, two toes chipped.
