Catalogue Note

Winter forests are a recurring theme in Renger-Patzsch's oeuvre. As late as 1955 he made a similar view called 'Firs in Winter'. This shows something of the stylistic constancy Renger-Patzsch maintained in his landscapes as much as in his industrial and architectural views.
