Catalogue Note

This image was originally reproduced in US Vogue in February 1950 in an article entitled 12 Hats in the News. The caption read: 'Crescent Bicorne. The news: it is worn below the hairline; it is dead-centred, no trace of a list to one side. The flattery: its rounding, rising lines. An electric effect with its rising bird wings, its screen of veiling. An excellent hat for narrow city suits.'
