Catalogue Note

Francesco Coleman était le fils du peintre anglais Charles Coleman et du célèbre modèle romain Maria Fortunata Legatori. Ses premiers tableaux orientalistes connus datent de 1882. Il représenta des scènes de genre orientalistes et des paysages d'Afrique du Nord et d'Egypte avec une minutie que l'on retrouve dans l'oeuvre présentée ici.
