Condition
Both are relined, surfaces are clean and paintings are ready to hang in their present state. the images in the catalogue are darker than the actual paintings which are brighter than they appear in the photographs. the paint surface on both is very well preserved with lovely detail and coloration.
Summer: ultraviolet light reveals an old repaired diagonal tear in canvas at right side in stone planter in background down through the stone base holding the urn to right of putto playing lute. a few tiny retouches in sky.
Fall: ultraviolet light reveals an old repaired horizontal tear in sky at center right. some retouching to face and torso of central putto and some along bottom edge. one or two others scattered.
Paintings do not need further work and can be hung as is.
In ornately carved and gilt wood frames.
