The catalogue illustrations are representative. The canvases have been relined, are on old stretchers and are offered in 20th century wooden frames with several losses. The pantings of Winter and Summer are not secured tightly to their stretchers and thus are not tought but somehwhat loose. To the naked eye no restoration is visible, but a hole and a paint loss in the Autumn painting is present (as is visible in the catalogue). Under UV light the following is revealed: The Spring painting is in fair condition with some strengthening to Spring's right hand; Autumn has a minor retouching on the leg of the tiger; Winter does not reveal any retouchings; Two minor retouchings can be found in the sky of Summer. UV inspection reveals the excellent condition of the paintings. The paintings would however, benefit from a clean.
