The colours in the catalogue illustration are representative though in the original the sky is of a more uniform colour. The support appears to consist of 4 horizontal panel securely fastened and overall flat. A more recent single panel has been laid to reverse. Offered in a later carved wood frame. To the naked eye the paint surface appears secure and under a thick varnish with discoloured areas of retouching in the sky. The thick varnish impedes satisfactory inspcetion under UV light but he panel joins are visible as well as other scattered patches of retouching, for example in the panel join cente left and other retouchings in the face.
