The colours are a little cooler (less red) than they appear in the catalogue illustration. The canvas has been relined. There is a canvas seam running vertically down the centre, along which there is some retouching. There is what appears to be another canvas seam approx 30 cm from the right edge. The paint surface is secure and under a quite dirty varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered, non-obtrusive retouchings (particularly to the darker areas), strengthenings and small areas of restoration. There is a restored diagonal (/) tear in the lower centre left corner. Offered in a gilt wood frame with paint losses along each side.
