Condition
The catalogue illustration is faithful in colour to the painting though it lacks the sense of movement of the original. The relined canvas is offered in a wood and plaster frame with some knocks and losses, particularly to the left edge. The paint surface appears sound, though some areas of abrasion are present. Two horizontal folds can be made out to the naked eye, as well as a restored tear lower right (as visible in the catalogue illustration). Examination under UV light reveals a few further non-obtrusive scattered retouchings visible under the oxidised varnish.
