Condition
The catalogue image is representative but the painting is more detailed. The support consists of two horizontal panels secured by two dove trails, placed in a frame which has a few small paint losses. Though the gold has flaked off in many areas, much of the punchwork is well preserved. Some retouchings are visible, particularly to the panel joints.
Inspection under ultraviolet light shows some further scattered retouchings. Overall the painting retains its charm and much of its detail.
