Condition
The painting is cooler in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The single panel is stable with a very slight bow. The paint surface is secure and under a yellowed varnish. Some discoloured retouchings are visible to the naked eye and the paint has thinned a little in the green cloak to the right. Inspection under UV light reveals older and more recent scattered retouchings. These are more concentrated to the right side of Jesus' torso. Overall the picture is in fair condition for a 16th-century panel.
