Condition
The illustration is representative in colour but the painting is more lively in feeling. The canvas is unlined and is offered in a painted and gilt wood frame. From the reverse a light restored vertical tear of about 5 cms centre left can be made out, though this is not immediately obvious on the paint surface. The paint surface is otherwise sound. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouchings and some old restoration over the tear.
Overall the painting is offered clean and in fair condition.
