The painting is warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The relined canvas is offered in a later painted gold frame in fair condition. The paint surface is under a slightly yellow varnish and is a little rubbed in places. Under UV light a patch of restoration can be made out upper right. Other quite extensive but scattered retouchings flouresce in the sky and darker areas but less so in the lower half, as well as some restored frame abrasion. Some retouchings can be made out along the stretcher marks.
