The painting is less saturated than the catalogue illustration suggests, and the whites are in fact more yellow in the painting. The relined canvas is offered in a modern wood fame in fair condition. As can be seen in the photograph, the red ground can be seen in various passages. The impasto is weel preserved in the lighter shades though the paint surface has become worn in the darker pigments. A patch of restored damage is present centre left. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouchings.
