The illustration is representative but the painting is slightly less red. The panel is flat and stable and has a period extension of 5 cms along the lwoer edge. Two vertical battens stabilise the panel. Old inactive worm holes are present and there is some damage to the paint surface lower right, as visible in the catalogue.To the naked eye discoloured retouchings appear throughout, confirmed by UV light. The thick oxidised varnish covers many areas and prevets satisfactory inspection under UV. There are some areas of extensive retouching, for example in the area under Jesus' right arm and in the central woman's face. This can be made out in the catalogue illustration. Offered unframed.
