The colours in the catalogue illustration are representative of the painting. The canvas has been relined. There is a small unrestored damage lower centre. Otherwise the paint surface is secure although abraded in areas (particularly at the saint's right elbow), and is under a dirty varnish. Very thorough inspection under UV light is impeded by the varnish but scattered retouchings do fluoresce. Some of the older retouchings, eg to the saint's flesh tones, have discoloured a little. Offered in a later plain wood frame in fair condition with some inactive worm holes.
