The catalogue illustration is representative of the painting. The canvas has been relined and is offered in a wood guilt and ebonised cassetta frame with some knocks. Except for some scratches along the margins, neither major damages nor restoration can be seen to the naked eye. The paint surface is fairly abraded and there are some small scattered paint losses. The thick and quite dirty varnish impedes a clear inspection under ultra-violet but some scattered older and more recent retouchings and strengthenings are visible. Some of the older retouchings have discoloured a little. There is a canvas seam running horizontally 30 cm from the upper edge.
