Description
- Portrait of a young boy, bust-length, in a black costume with a white ruff
- oil on panel
Condition
The panel is cradled horizontally and vertically to the reverse. The paint surface is largely secured by the yellowed varnish but there are some minor scattered areas of paint loss upper right where the paint has started to lift. Scattered discoloured retouchings and restorations are visible to the naked eye, most notably to the vertical cracks to the paint to the right of the boy's head, although the varnish prevents inspection under UV light. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with some damages, particularly to the upper and right edges.
