Condition
"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
The oak panel is in good condition, there are no repairs or deformations. The vulnerable blacks have been compromised and augmented, these areas include the shadows and the hair of some of the figures, but the highlights are well preserved. The varnish is slightly discoloured, and there is the remains of an earlier varnish, so their removal would improve the tonality."
