Flemish School, 17th Century

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The original canvas has been wax/resin lined and its edges have been trimmed. The paint layer is stable but there has been a scattering of pin-prick loss across the surface in the past, only some of which have been re-touched out. The paint to the foliage is well preserved and the colours are strong and saturate well. The varnish is discoloured and its removal would improve the tonality."
