Condition
The actual painting has slightly less contrast and the colours are a bit less bright than the catalogue illustration suggests.
The canvas is relined.
The paint surface is somethat dry and minor thinness occurs mainly in the background.
The paint surface is in good condition, but some scattered pinpoint paint losses are visible throughout as well as some frame abrasion along the upper and bottom edge.
The varnish layer is unevenly cleaned and somewhat yellowed.
A coarse craquelure pattern is visible in the centre, which has been filled and retouched.
Inspection under UV-light reveals scattered areas of retouching, but mainly in the drapery of the central figures. No major damages become apparent under UV-light.
The painting is offered in a decorative gilt wood frame, in very good condition.
