Condition
The catalogue illustration is representative for the actual painting.
The single panel is flat and stable, and unbeveled. Slight abrasion is visible in the darker brownish tones, e.g. in the dog, in the background figure, in the child most right, and in the foreground lower left. Tiny scattered retouchings are visible throughout, e.g. in the figures and dog, in the centre background, and lower foreground. This is confirmed by inspection under Ultra-Violet light.
The paint surface is covered with a thick and glossy, slightly discoloured layer of varnish.
Offered in a tortoise shell veneer wood frame, with a few losses. (MW)
