Condition
The catalogue illustration is representative for the actual painting.
The canvas has a slightly firm relining. No damages are visible to the naked eye, and the paint surface seems to be in excellent condition. Few tiny retouchings and minor strengthening can be observed in the red flower lower centre, in the background centre right, in the foliage and in the blue ribbon. Inspection under Ultra-Violet light, furthermore, reveals a few tiny scattered additional retouchings in some of the flowers and foliage.
The paint surface is covered with a lucid and fresh layer of varnish, and the painting seems to be recently cleaned.
Offered in a plain ebonised wood frame, in good condition. (MW)
